Patina & Surface Works

These jewellery works explore surface as a place of transformation, erosion and discovery.

Using oxidisation, layered pigments, reactive materials and metal compounds, the pieces evolve slowly through processes that cannot be fully controlled. Surfaces are repeatedly built, sanded back, engraved, etched and reworked — allowing patinas to emerge, fracture and settle in unpredictable ways.

Rooted in an ongoing fascination with the relationship between science and art, the work embraces experimentation and material behaviour as an essential part of the process.

The resulting surfaces feel geological, mineral-like and alive: quiet studies of time, instability and change.
