New Work
This recent body of work marks a gradual shift back toward colour, atmosphere and memory.
While process and material exploration remain important within the paintings, these works have become quieter, more spacious and increasingly connected to landscape, weather and remembered places.
Paintings such as A Field Remembered revisit fragments of childhood landscape — open spaces, changing light and the emotional imprint of place. Others emerge more directly from immediate surroundings and experience; the large blue painting was created during days of relentless rain, its layered washes and softened marks reflecting the mood and atmosphere of that time.
Across the work there is a growing sense of openness and stillness, balancing intuitive mark-making with reflection, memory and the changing qualities of light, season and environment.
